We carried out a 3-day training for youth and regular meetings and workshops in Riga on different topics. These meetings and workshops gave participants a general insight into human rights and development, as well as basic knowledge in journalism. We developed an application form for youth, asking them about their motivation and experience. We distributed the application form through different youth webpages, university student councils and personal contacts. YAA conducted ice breaking games and the trainings were carried out by professional journalists. Lolita Luse, who led a journalist school in Balvi region, held a session on how to write news, what the structure of an article is and how to pick a headline, etc. Didzis Melbiksis held a session on journalist ethics. The workshops in Riga were mainly meetings and conversations with journalists and NGO representatives working on similar issues such as corruption.

We established jaz.lv where participants from the trainings could publish their articles. On this portal we publish news on development to young people.
