Education

The way that children read and learn in school dictates how they see themselves and those of other religions, ethnicities and caste or class. It informs their world-view in a deeply persuasive and long lasting way. If curricula promote negative stereotypes of different people or genders those people suffer in the real world. If children from a particular background or gender cannot get access to mainstream schooling through poverty, marginalisation or cultural norms, their whole lives and futures are affected.
