Serbian Minister of Capital Investment Velimir Ilic handed over the keys for six newly built houses to families whose houses were damaged during the floods of the Danube River in the Govedji Brod neighbourhood in Zemun. The houses have been constructed in the area of Plavi Horizonti; the area of each house is 63 square metres, with electricity and water supply and sewage. Minister Ilic promised the Roma families who are to move into these houses that the street will be covered with asphalt shortly.

Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) Serbia trained eight Roma journalists from all over Serbia, as part of BIRN’s ongoing Minority Training and Reporting Project. The seminar took place in the Media Centre in Belgrade, and gathered eight journalists from Novi Sad, Obrenovac, Nis and Prokuplje, who work for their local media outlets.

The OSCE Mission to Serbia handed out backpacks, notebooks, pencils and other school supplies to ethnic Roma pupils as part of a project that aimed to increase Roma children's school attendance. The 25,000-euro donation was part of the OSCE Mission's Roma Assistance Programme and supported by the European Agency for Reconstruction. It included 1,100 pupils in 21 towns across Serbia.

With the financial support by the international organization Oxfam Novib from the Netherlands, on January 1, 2007 Civic Initiatives have initiated a new three-year cycle of support to self-organizing of the Roma population and development of its capacities for improvement of living conditions in accordance with their own needs.
