Difference in pension treatment for former members of the French Army based on a nationality criteria.
Conclusion:
Violation of Article 26: The Human Rights Committee held that the difference in pension treatment of former members of the French Army, based on whether they are French nationals or not, is not based on reasonable and objective criteria and constitutes discrimination prohibited by the Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. In addition, the Human Rights Committee confirmed that discrimination based on nationality was prohibited with reference to the ground of "other status" in Article 26.
